Travelling Exhibit “Mobilizing a Country: Canada and the First World War”

The First World War, then known as the Great War or the “war to end all wars”, was a global conflict involving 32 countries. It lasted four years and ultimately led to over 15 million deaths, 23 million injuries and unprecedented levels of destruction. Its impacts can still be felt today. Canada, despite its small size, played an important role in the war. This exhibit explores the personal stories of how Canadians contributed to the war effort.
